Mullackal is a small town situated in the heart of Alappuzha (The Venice of the East). The name mullackal, came from the temple goddess, named "Mullackal Amma", situated in alappey. The main festival of this place is the mullackal chirappu, its the celebration of 41 days, where the roadsides are decorated with lights and decorations. The last ten days are the busiest days of this town.

Mullackal temple
MULLACKAL TEMPLE
Mullackal temple is one of the oldest temples located in alappuzha. The presiding deity in this temple is goddes,s Mullackal Rajarajeswari. The main festival "Mullackal Chirappu" is during November and December. The nine day festival is also occurred during Navarathri, the last two days are the most important where nine elephants with colorful processions are participated and thousands of devotees come to witness this auspicious occasion.
